Ok…so, they’re making a new Ninja Turtles animated movie, about the current animated series Turtles traveling to an alternate dimension to visit the 1987 animated series Turtles, who will still be drawn/act in that campier style that I grew up with?

Halloween turns into a weird holiday when you’re too old/busy to have the time and inclination to come up with crazy costumes and party all weekend, but too young to have kids to take trick-or-treating. Thank god for pumpkin carving parties.

Last night, driving home amidst the gloomy aftermath of the top of LA’s rainy season, my iPhone threw this song into my lap. Immediately, I wasn’t just driving home from my dayjob anymore; no, I was a private detective straight out of a film noir driving back to his office-cum-apartment, wondering when some unfortunate dame would walk in with my next case, when that final bottle of scotch in my desk would run dry, and when I’d find my place in this damn city…my city.

Rainy Los Angeles days are pretty great, but with the right soundtrack? They’re downright exceptional.
